The Baronial Court
The Court is headed by Their Excellencies Grim of Thornby and Alexandra de Santiago the Baron and Baroness of Southron Gaard. Their job is to represent the King and Queen and to act as titular heads of the Barony. Their responsibilities include fostering the arts and culture, handling foreign policy and diplomacy, encouraging and recognising the achievements of the populace, and marshalling the defenses of the Barony.
Welcome!
We, Grim and Alexandra. became Baron and Baroness of Southron Gaard in 2020, and serve as the Crown’s representatives here in the South Island of New Zealand. We have both been involved in the SCA for over thirty years, and are founding members of Household Draco Viridis.
We are working for you, the populous of Southron Gaard, striving to support the growth of the Barony as a more inclusive and accessible environment for all.
Nothing gives us more pleasure than to see people create, participate and grow within the Society, except perhaps seeing them be recognised for their achievements. Please tell us about your plans, discoveries, and creations. Additionally, please contact us if you need support, assistance or information, we will do what we can to help, or put you onto people that can help if we are unable.
We look forward to meeting you, and helping you find your happy place in the Barony of Southron Gaard, and the SCA.

Court Members
The members of Court are appointed for a specified term by the Baron and Baroness. They are chosen on merit, based on their ability and willingness to undertake the onerous tasks involved, on their courtesy and service, and other more arbitrary criteria that occurs to us.

Some attendants act as guards for Their Excellences, fetching and carrying anything that might be needed. Others will keep Their Excellences company and act as Lords or Ladies in waiting, attending to any small needs Their Excellences might have.

Event Sponsorship facilitation system
