CHATELAINE: Emailed REEVE: Main Account: $5530.56 FTT: $42.48 Met with Richard to assist in completing Canterbury Faire accounts HERALD: Attended the Yule event and was herald for the Baronial court. Also assisted the steward in various announcements for the evening. A few minor changes to the online Order of Precedence after comments by the populace. More corrections and comments are welcome. Been looking into the Augmentation of Baronial Arms. MARSHAL: Nothing to report, no tourneys this month. Point from list, basket hilts are considered part of sword, not part of armour, so aren't a valid hit location. LISTS: Nothing to report, no tourneys. A&S: There was no A&S workshop this month. A&S will resume in August with Mistress Roheisa leading a class on Banner making. Part one to be on banner design. More details forthcoming to the baronial mailing lists. Baronial Scriptorium: Meets the third Tuesday of every month. Venue changed and is now abck at Catalina's. Please call or email if you need address. Mistress Roheisa is doing a wonderful series of classes on illumination. It's not too late to join, so please come next Tuesday if you're keen. B&B: Yule Quarter Day: Court held, Tour d'or awarded to Baroness Sinech New Chronicler step-up, Rose de Lludlow, swore fealty Organised/attended Russley Cubs demo with Dieter and Martuccio Organised Science Alive! exhibition materials (thanks to Roheisa, Dieter and Ceina), attended 1066 Exhibition opening (thanks to several gentles who also came along); discussed possible demo for July 23; Science Alive to be invoiced, with $200 coming to Barony Attended Winds of Waitaha music evening with singing group, made some useful contacts which we hope will lead to more live music in future Organising Ghosts and Shadows Revel (July 23) and December Seige Challenge (Dec 2-4); latter includes likely attendance by Edmund, Baron Polticarchoplis and Kingdom Siege Marshal Sent letter of fealty to July Coronation, presented on our behalf by Hrothgar, Baron of Rowany Baronial Hangings Project announced in FTT Banner project for CF and Festival -- silk and dyes now in NZ, costings to go to Festival fund EVENT REPORTS: CF: Final report, paperwork handed over. Yule: Final report. $10 profit. Cub Demo: fine, they were enthusiastic, no slayings, cards handed out. Winds of Waitaha: Went along. Met sackbuts, harps, shawms etc. Some interested from them in what we do. UP COMING EVENTS: Science Alive Demo:Exhibition sorted, have garb armour etc (they also got some from elsewhere). They want a demo July 23 from 1pm. Suggest a small tourney/fighters practice, with people watching. Will be inside Science Alive area. Looking for volunteers, small muster. Will take flyers (need more printed). Waipara working party: No report, haven't heard back from their committee yet. 30 lavenders potted. Elizabethan Event: nothing heard. October muster: Exhibition plans underway (have budget). Forms online ACTION: post to mailing list again. Have apporval for use of Kate Shepherd Memorial area for tourney. December quarter day: seige thing. Budget etc. gone to Reeve. Fri 2nd middayish to Sun 5pm. Rimu park (1 wk before St Catherines) $15 for 2 nights (inclu porridge), +$10 for feast. Day fee $8/head. Demo for St Andrews: haven't heard back after 1st contact. Possibly August. Waiting further information. GENERAL BUSINESS: College funds: letter drafted by Belle, but forgot to bring. Got Rose's signature. Financial committee guidelines: No feed back over last two months. Move to accepted, if anyone has problems at this point they can bring them back to us. Passed. Recruiting posters: drafts made by Vicki, passed on to Tycho. Only on e response to call for photos. Vicki has plenty to glean from. Still need some specifically set up shots. Costings so far $478, $552, $383 (different companies) (for 200 of each design, total 800 posters). Not enough copies to go full colour. NB will want a heavier weight of paper. Suggest less posters, 100 or 125 of each might be reasonable. ACTION: bring mock ups to next council meeting. Flyers: used up stack. Might be doing good, hard to tell.
