CHATELAINE: Quiet month - Attended Stuff Night - pattern making. Still chasing up Hire Garb. Have had some more back. Following up on organising promotional display through the Libraries. REEVE: Current Account $5,319.93 FTT $44.25 Clearing Account $5,092.13 Farily quiet month. still only one inquiry. Hoping for at least one application soon, as there is only 3 weeks left HERALD: - Was given a video on blazonry and Court heraldry of epic length to study. - Heralded Court at the St. Kessog College First Feast. - Have received another request for name and device registration from the populace. - Would also like to put a request out to the general populace for those who are not on the OP already to make themselves known to me, so I don't embarrass myself in discussions for recommendations, but also so because you might be more likely to get your just rewards if your existence is known of by the world at large. MARSHAL: - Practices continue. - Sent 1/4ly report. - Discussing with Earl marshal about restructuring marshalate heirachy to allow field-marshals who don't do authorizations to aid marshal recruitment. Something like that is in the works, details to be finalized. - This may work in with the institution of an intake of folk keen to get upskilled in the marshalate. - Is there any interest in a semi-formal training structure for kids interested in heavy fighting, super-boffers etc? CAPTAIN OF ARCHERS: CAPTAIN OF RAPIER: Practices are continuing twice a week. (Tuesday nights and Sunday afternoons) Carl and Emilio went to Castleburn and gave a rapier demonstration. We have three newly authorised fighters, which brings us to a total of 8. There are a further 3-5 who are showning interest in becoming authorised. Events Attended: - First Feast – College of St Kessog Other Business: - Received & accepted application from Iulianna for position of Baronial webwright. - Looking for articles and art work for FTT WEBWRIGHT: - Usual updates and loads of minor tweaks. - Rearranged site slightly and asked Don William to create a login so that the music folk could manage their files independently of the Webwright (just as is currently done for Chronicler and Minutes- taker/Seneschal files). - Lady Iuliana applied and was accepted by the Chronicler for the Webwright role. Yay! Updated site maintenance document and have begun the handover process, should be fully completed by next Council. CHIRURGEON: - New chirurgeon in St Kessog (Wynflaed) - No accidents CONSTABLE: Nothing to Report as there have been no events (that I have attended). QUARTERMASTER: - Have collected a few more things from the CF site. B&B: - Attended Stuff Night, singing, Castelburn A&S, St Kessog First Feast - Met with a person who is wishing to set up a medieval-themed restaurant to see if there are viable ways the Barony or its members could help out Correspondence with: - Seneschal and Kingdom Seneschal re: new Seneschal appointment - Crown and others re: Kingdom Law review. If anyone would like to make concise suggestions, send them by Mar 30th to crown@sca.org.au - Various re: CF site allocation concepts - CF site managers re: fireban mitigation, 2009/2010 dates, site sharing requirements for 2009 - Various re: process to agree on in-game names for Australia and New Zealand (it stalled in 2006, attempting to get it concluded, see http://webcentre.co.nz/kk/namefaq.htm ) - Kerry Helm re: hire of thrones and goblets on Mar 21st-23rd for $60 (candelabras offered by Raife/Melisande not needed, thanks), Bjorn has the goods and will be handlng their pickup and drop-off, thank you - Had a contact via Inigo from the organiser of the Taupo Jousting event, asking after our dates for the next three years so he could avoid clashing if possible. Gave him 2009, proposed 2010 and very speculative 2011 dates, and he immediately shifted his Waitangi weekend 2009 intentions to avoid a clash. - Iulianna and Financial Committee re: March muster - Bronwyn re: possibility of Barony demo/camping at Leeston event - Baronial Champions, past Crossbow champions and Captain of Archers re: Crossbow championship - Merlin re: camping at Festival, others re: transport to/from Festival - Emma re: BA plans EVENT REPORTS: COLLEGIUM AND BALL PROPOSAL: - Collegium and ball proposal for September from Amalia and Thordis. - Could be the quarter day for that period - Matilda to do A&S side - Amalia and Thordis doing the ball - Therese doing food - Themed around 1459 Florence. - Bishopdale community centre as venue APRIL MUSTER - Proposal for April muster put in by Iulianna for April 6th - Would follow the exact same format as the cancelled March Muster. - Dancing, tourney, rapier etc - Starting at 10am - sunshades to be used, in the Baronial trailer, Vitale to bring. BARONIAL ANNIVERSARY - Cheque needed for site deposit - Isabel Winter (from Ildhafn) to cook the feast - Championships to be organised by the officers - Will need money at some point to buy the food - Can book by emailing Emma directly Some people concerned that the kitchen will be used for both a breakfast and a lunchtime feast. CF BUDGET REPORT - Provisional budget report from the Stewards: - Took in ~$22k, spent ~$19k. - Profit is $3137.00 at the moment - Gavin to email Seneschal with final copy of budget GENERAL BUSINESS: FUNDS TRACKING: - Bartholomew presented an overview of our funds over the last year. Net funds never dropped below $6k, and so shows that we can probably have a $5k term deposit. KINGDOM LEVY: - Bartholomew to look into the current state of operations for paying Kingdom Levy and Kingdom event profit shares STUFF NIGHT: Next week’s stuff night to be scroll painting. Volunteers needed to help paint scrolls and revamp boffer swords. CF LAND ALLOCATION: - Bartholomew presented the summary conclusion of the CF land allocation working group. Their proposed solution to go on the website. - In a nutshell, customary rights will be respected, people will book land areas when booking for CF. - Everyone happy with the plan, although don’t think it is necessary for individual campers to book for specific ‘quiet’, ‘noisy’ etc common ground. OFFICER APPOINTMENTS: - Updating SG policy book to Kingdom Law and the practice we have been following the last few years. Namely lesser Baronial officers are selected by the Greater Baronial officer. YULE MUSINGS: Sybilla to put in bid for Yule on June 28th at next council. Bishopdale community centre as venue. LINWOOD COLLEGE FUNDRAISER: Katherine probably will be requesting loan of gear to help with Linwood College fundraiser. MEETING CLOSED 8:27PM.
