CHATELAINE: Missed Muster and asked Belle to cover for me. She did. REEVE- No written report. We have a lot of money. HERALD: Attended the February muster; heralded the heavy tourney and the children's boffer. I have been working on the new Baronial Herald's tabard. Received two name and device submissions from members of the populace. MARSHAL: No apology, no report. LISTS: There was a four person tourney at the muster. Can?t remember who won. A&S: A&S now held concurently with Medieval Stuff Evening instead of a separate date. Open A&S this month. Is anyone interested in having any specific classes at this tie? If so, I need to know what class you'd like to see. I also need volunteers to teach. Baronial Anniverysary ? only one entrant for A&S Championship thus far. If you're interested in entering this year, you MUST have doco submitted at least 72 hours before the event. PLEASE contact me asap if you plan to enter the championship so I can arrange for appropriate judges. Library books: $94.50 in baronial library fund. Hope to buy the outstanding issues of Compleat Anachronist that are missing from our library with this money. Motion to vote. CHRONICLER: FTT went out with stuff about St Kessog in. It would be good if we could get and older (00 or 02 version of Publisher) CONSTABLE: Nothing to report WEBWRIGHT: Usual updates, CF photos online, new http://kessog.sca.org.nz site upand running, and kessog@sca.org.nz mailing list -- 25 people on itthus far, about half local. Tried a wee experiment to increase FTT readership, seems to be working (March issue 60+ in first week out, compared to Feb's 45 or so in same period). QUARTERMASTER: Received Back Baronial Belongings from CF. No Marshal?s Gear, which is with the Marshal. Also received an extra box of Hire Garb and a red barrier- Sigurd and Eleanora?s? Typed inventory and sent to Webwright. Took First Aid box to incipient Chirurgeon, with the intention that he retains it. Obtained four red oven pads to donate to the Barony. ACTION: Vote held to approve $60 for hire garb holding plastic boxes- All in favour ARCHERY CAPTAIN 1. We've had archery practice twice in the last month with an attendance of 4-6 archers at each practice. 2. Attended the Baronial Muster on February 26. I brought along some archery equipment, and spoke with interested gentles regards archery and the SCA in general. 3. Attended the inaugural event of the proto-College of St Kessog in Dunedin on March 5. Spoke to people down there regards Archery activities in the society. It sounds as if the College will be well equipped to run their own archery practices down in Dunedin: they have a gentle who is knowledgable about archery to run things (a former NZ junior champion, apparently), and a potential source of gear - Otago University had an archery club that is now defunct, leaving behind a significant supply of bows, arrows, etc, which St Kessog is hoping to be able to access for its own use... 4. In the process of constructing new target butts for the Barony's use (one down, at least two to go). Currently taking donation of materials for construction, and doing an excellent job of sticking to budget (which is precisely $0.00). 5. We've scheduled an IKAC shoot for next practice (Sunday 19/3). Would like to see this become a monthly occurence, but will wait for feedback from the populace before acting on this. Future Plans: Still need to set up targets for the Baronial Archery champion shoot at the Baronial Anniversary event this month. B&B: * Received much excellent feedback about CF, congrats to all concerned * Attended St Kessog inaugural event, 25 people there, good set of officers appointed, expecting several at BA * Discussions with various re: Festival logistics and alliances * Ordered/paid for platters, now arrived * Attended February muster, good turnout, especially new faces/ungarbed folk come for a look, boffer very popular * Started Lochac boffer discussion group including current Heavy Deputy Marshal (his idea) * Preparation for BA going well, getting letters of intent and also recommendations, need more of course * Seamsters, singing DEMO REQUESTS: A wedding in August, mentioned the fee, haven?t heard back EVENT REPORTS: CF:- No report as yet FEBRUARY MUSTER:-We had a muster, it was fun. There was a tourney and a boffer tourney. They were good. In future, checking that the venue has toilets is recommended. BA:- Planning is going well with disappointing bookings at this stage. Tourney and Boffers are under control. Daniel has offered to run a treasure hunt for children. YULE:- 1st July, 1 week before coronation. Theme: Yule on the Levant. $16 adults, $8 children. Gavin?s bid Accepted. BAL D? ARGENT:- We got the Bid! Thinking of changing dates to September 16/17. With the tourney do we want to make this our quarterly event? There was discussion re the use of the Laurel Fund for teachers, even for related classes such as music. WEA has four rooms so there can be class streams. Meredith is scavenging for St Kessogs- garb, fabric, feast gear etc. Would like to hand it over at BA. GENERAL BUSINESS The Platters have arrived. They are very nice. Serving utensils for High table are being hunted Page Stuff is becoming more of an issue- stuff taking place at events almost needs a co-coordinator. A CF Ticky box and hints for young players sheet would be nice. No one wants to do it. Baronial Tokens and Awards- Should there be a physical representation for them? Is it appropriate? It was intended to make badges at the start. Pins would be better. ACTION: Bastian to be asked to cast samples, discuss the cost of this with him, also that of enameling. All in favour. Feast kits for travelers- including an identifying list with each kit? Labelled objects? The inestment would be mainly time. Lost property could be loaned to new comers ACTION:- Cat to make up a couple of sample bags as an experiment Meeting closed: 8.25 pm. Belle Sibly
