Taught children’s A&S class on plants. Ran A&S competition, three divisions, three entrants, three winners. Presented awards in court to winners. CHRONICLER: Have resigned the position. New applicants sought. WEBWRIGHT: - CF 2008 site and booking form live - Usual updates including more calendar enhancements from Lord Oddi, new resource links - Rearranged minutes and FTT sections so minutes-keeper and chronicler can manage these independently from now on. - Seeking replacement ASAP, by end Feb 2008 at latest CHIRURGEON: No report submitted. CONSTABLE: No report submitted. QUARTERMASTER: Apologies. No activity this month. B&B: - Contacted spun-helm supplier and placed order per Sept Council minutes, plus a couple of private orders -- should be ready some time this month - Obtained canvas from Kutwells per Sept minutes - have 71.8 metres in total av 1.50 cm width (3 rolls: 24.8+22+25), for total of $359; Council approved 50 m purchase -- if it wants the rest, that's fine, otherwise we will sell it on personally; should be enough to make around 3-4 sunshades - Attended Castelburn repast, fort meeting, singing, fighters practice - Correspondence with Seneschal re: trailer and TDP, a visiting gentle from Artemesia, various others EVENT REPORTS: COLLEGIUM: Collegium went well. Profit of $199. Everyone like the venue, will note it for future events. BALL: Emilio presented proposal for Ball on November 24. - To be held at St Peter’s church, Church corner - Includes 4 dance sets, plus supper - Ticket prices $10 for adult. All in favour of the event. Bid accepted. HAFLA: Dauid present proposal for middle eastern hafla event on December 8 - To be held at Masonic Lodge in Sydenham (although venue is current unconfirmed) - Revel with repast - Low tables with people to bring cushions - Ticket price of $15 for adult All in favour of the event. Bid accepted. GENERAL BUSINESS: ELLESMERE A&P SHOW: Some confusion with dates and organisation, partly Seneschal error, and their contact person for went to France for the World Cup. The show is actually this weekend. Everyone agreed that this is too close to organise attendance, and most people weren’t that keen on attending anyway. CF WORKING BEE: Working bee to be held at the CF site on Saturday December 22nd, 10am to 3pm. Main aim is to improve the area around the mong. CF’08 FIGHTER AUCTION FUNDS: - Proposal by Bartholomew that the funds from the 2008 CF fighter auction go towards the purchasing of a large bell (i.e. ship’s bell) that can be used at the CF site to ring hours etc. - Counter proposal by Katherine that the funds be used to purchase a SG tent for use at Festival. - Most people think the bell idea is better suited for the immediate future. SCHOOL DEMO: Been contacted by Westburn school to help with their medieval topic segment. Would like us to come in on the 8th November for their ‘feast day’ and help out with whatever we like. Details to be posted to the list asking for volunteers to help. CANVAS: Extra canvas purchased by Katherine in excess of the 50m to be sold to individuals within the barony. RIALTO OFFER: Katherine was contacted by the Rialto cinema, who are looking at us to help promote the new Queen Elizabeth movie. They would 10-20 of us in Elizabethan garb to stand in the foyer etc. In return we each get a double pass to the movie. Katherine to advertise to the list and see if there is any interest, before getting back to Rialto. BANKS: Due to the numerous issues we have had with WestPac, Thorald will begin looking at other banks we can use. Barholomew specified that the bank must be able to cash overseas cheques without any extra fees. Kiwibank has been suggested as a good banking option for clubs. TOUR D’OR BADGES: Various discussion on creating Tour d’Or badges. Various people to look at overseas sca specialty merchants, eg Fettered cock, Billy & Charlies etc. MEETING CLOSED 8:35PM.
